Giorgio Ghisi (1520-1582)

Engraver and damascener from Mantua. Brother of Teodoro. He worked in Rome (documented sometime during the years 534 to 1549 and again in 1550s), in Antwerp (1549/50); in Paris in late 1550s until at least 1567. Recorded in Mantua again in 1574. 1577-84 keeper of jewels and precious metals for the Gonzaga.Also Known As Ghisi, Giorgio; Mantovano, Giorgio
