David Vinckboons  (1576 - 1632)

Engraver and etcher, born in Mechelen. Mainly genre and landscape painter. Around 1579 he moved to Antwerp where he became pupil of his father Philips. From 1586 in Middelburg, from 1591 in Amsterdam where he died. Father of David II, Johannes, Justus, Philips and Pieter Vingboons.
