Painter and etcher, active in Antwerp and Italy. Born in Antwerp as son of Lucas de Wael; nephew and pupil of Cornelis de Wael in Genoa; 1657 active in Genoa; 1669 in Rome with his brother Anton till ?. His prints are rare.
